Education, Training and Student Placement
Since February 2013, I have been studying community services work and community development. The two courses I have been studying full-time on-campus at the Kangan Institute Broadmeadows Campus are:
- Diploma of Community Services Work
- Diploma of Community Development
In 2014, my 200-hour student placement will be at Merri Community Health Services with their Young Carers Program at Carer Links North in Preston.
Volunteer Social Work
Merri Community Health Services - Young Carers Program
I volunteer with Merri Community Health Services as part of the Commonwealth Respite Carelink Centre/CarerLinks North where I work with the Young Carers program. My role is to work with and support paid staff and other volunteers who plan and deliver activities and events for young carers. October 2013 - present.
Merri Community Health Services - 1:1 Social and Recreational Support
I volunteer with Merri Community Health Services Community Mental Health Program as part of their Supported Residential Service (SRS) Support where I conduct 1:1 social and recreational support. November 2013 - February 2014.
