27/7/2010 22:05:46 - Provided information comment on SBS Insight website Mental Health forum discussion board about beyondblue Diversity, Multiculturalism and Mental Health information.
My information comment:
"Thank you to SBS Insight for an excellent discussion about mental health. It was interesting to hear the views of some of the audience during the discussion in regard to multicultural differences and how seeking assistance can be difficult due to non-bilingual staff at clinics and hospitals. There is information available on the beyondblue website that caters to many languages. Trust this helps someone. Cheers. http://www.beyondblue.org.au/index.aspx?link_id=102."
SBS Insight forum discussion board.
27/7/2010 - Participated in Live Chat discussion on the SBS Insight website.
Had the opportunity to ask beyondblue CEO Leonie Young this question:
"Question for Leonie Young: Leonie, how much money is beyondblue going to receive from the Federal Government over the next five years?"
Here is Leonie's response:
"Hi Darren, beyondblue has commitment from fed govt for $44m over next 5 years, our programs include the bb website, 24/7 info line, support for pre and postnatal depression initiative, kidsmatter early childhood, kidsmatter primary schools, tackling stigma in the community, workplace programs, rural mh, conducting research, promoting evidence on early intervention and prevention, our programs listed on website at http://www.beyondblue.org.au/."
