I'm putting together a collection of Australiana limericks which I look forward to publishing down the track.
Here's a small sample:
Hay
Shearin' sheep around there in Hay
In the heat for two bob a day
The lads get all sweaty
And think of confetti
Just in case their minds go astray
Tathra
The wharf at Tathra gets laden
With blokes who leave home their maiden
They go there to fish
And not to clean dish
Suspect it’s the fish shop they’ll be raidin’
Bright
For colours that are a delight
In autumn you must visit Bright
For the young and the old
It can get a bit cold
You’ll be amazed at the glorious sight
Cobar
It’s such a long way to Cobar
I’ve been there and travelled by car
Met up with my mate
Was all just darn fate
And we both headed straight to the bar
A larger sample of the collection can be found at RedBubble.

This ever-growing collection of images are digital photographs I've taken in various locations in Australia.
There's a mixture of landscape, seascape, architecture, wildlife, festivals, hydro electric, lakes, rural, state parks, rainforest, people, historic wharves, monuments, humpback whales, drought scenes, farms, droving, bridges, flowers, botanic gardens, outback, autumn colours, rivers, national parks, hotels, waterfalls, irrigation, etc.
The list is continually increasing and the images can be viewed in my Flickr portfolio.

National Library of Australia Australian Newspapers Digitisation Program
By Darren Stones
An exciting new project has been released to the public by the National Library of Australia.
The Australian Newpapers online service is a vast collection of historic newspapers dating from 1803 to 1954.
http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
"The National Library of Australia, in collaboration with the Australian State and Territory libraries, has commenced a program to digitise out of copyright newspapers.
"We are creating a free online service that will enable full-text searching of newspaper articles. This will include newspapers published in each state and territory from the 1800s to the mid-1950s, when copyright applies. The first Australian newspaper, published in Sydney in 1803, is included in the Program."
Source - http://www.nla.gov.au/ndp/
Text displayed in the scanned articles is electronically translated by computer, and this is leading to spelling mistakes being generated due to computers not being able to read as good as humans.
I've chosen to sign up to the service, and as time permits will carry out voluntary editing and tagging of various articles.
Samples of my editing can be viewed by visiting my Australian Newspapers profile.
